What Makes Our BBL + MOXI Unique

What sets this treatment apart at SkinWorks isn’t just the technology—it’s how we use it. Our providers follow a precise, results-driven protocol developed through advanced training and years of experience.

Every session is personalized to your skin’s unique needs, ensuring maximum results with safety, comfort, and attention to detail at every step.

Why Combine BBL + MOXI?

Combining BBL (BroadBand Light) and MOXI delivers a comprehensive approach to skin renewal that goes beyond what either treatment can achieve alone.

BBL targets pigmentation, sun damage, and redness deep within the skin, lifting discoloration and promoting natural healing from beneath the surface.

MOXI resurfaces the outer layer, smoothing texture, refining pores, and enhancing radiance.

This combination works in perfect synergy—BBL brings pigment and damage to the surface, preparing the skin for MOXI’s gentle resurfacing. The result is a smoother, clearer, and more luminous complexion with improved tone and texture.

Together, they stimulate collagen and elastin production, supporting long-term skin firmness and elasticity. By addressing both the deeper layers and surface concerns in one treatment, you get faster, more noticeable, and longer-lasting results.

At SkinWorks, we customize every BBL + Moxi treatment based on your skin’s unique needs, ensuring safe, effective, and beautifully natural-looking skin rejuvenation.

How It Works

BBL (BroadBand Light) Therapy

BBL uses intense pulsed light to target pigment and vascular irregularities in the skin. It delivers broad-spectrum light energy that penetrates the skin, heating the upper layers to stimulate collagen production and improve skin tone, texture, and clarity.

It’s effective for reducing sun damage, age spots, redness, and improving overall skin rejuvenation.

MOXI Laser

MOXI is a non-ablative fractional laser treatment that uses gentle laser energy to create microscopic treatment zones in the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the skin’s natural healing process, boosting collagen and elastin production without significant downtime.

MOXI improves skin texture, pigmentation, and fine lines, making it great for preventative and maintenance skin care.

BBL Pre & Post-Care Instructions

These pre and post-care instructions are intended to guide you through the treatment process and get you on your way to naturally beautiful skin.

    • Use sunscreen and physical sun protection.

    • Avoid extended sun exposure, such as beach trips, sunbathing, traveling to sunny locations, or outdoor sports.

    • Inform your BBL clinician if any physician has prescribed Accutane for you in the last 6 months.

    • Inform your doctor of any medical conditions or medications you are taking that might:

      • Sensitize you to light

      • Affect wound healing

      • Affect coagulation

    • The procedure is typically gentle and safe.

    • There is no need for a topical anesthetic; however, your clinician may choose to use it.

    • Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses.

    • You may briefly feel a warm or rubber band snap sensation as the light is absorbed.

    • You may experience some redness in the treatment area that should resolve within a few hours.

    • You may notice darkening of your pigmented spots, followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage.

    • Follow your clinician’s aftercare plan until the skin is completely healed (typically one week after treatment).

    • Note: Skin on the body may take longer to heal compared to the face.

    • There is virtually no downtime after this non-invasive and gentle procedure. In most cases, you can:

      • Apply makeup

      • Return to work

      • Resume most activities immediately

    • Use soft washcloths and towels to avoid any scrubbing.

    • Wear a wide-brimmed hat or sun-protecting clothing post-treatment to avoid blistering, scarring, hyperpigmentation, and hypopigmentation.

    • Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating until after the skin has healed.

    • If the treated area is especially warm within the first 12 hours after the treatment, a cold compress or ice pack can be used to provide comfort.

    • If the skin appears red or swollen (sunburn sensation), an ice pack can provide comfort. Vitamin E or Aloe Veramay also be applied to the treatment area. In rare cases, oral pain relievers, such as Extra Strength Tylenol or Advil, may be used.

    • While the skin is healing, avoid anything that may irritate it, including exfoliants, shaving, water that is too hot or cold, and swimming pools or spas with multiple chemicals or chlorine.

  • In the unusual case of broken skin or blistering, contact the us immediately. Keep the affected area moist and avoid direct sunlight.

  • The care of your skin before and after the procedure is just as important as the treatment.

    Cleansing

    • Cleanse the skin two times a day with plain, lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser.

    • Use your hands and fingertips to cleanse using gentle patting motions.

    • DO NOT rub, scrub, use an exfoliant soap, or skin care brush (e.g., Clarisonic) on the treated area.

    Moisturizer

    • Moisturizer should be applied generously with clean hands over the treated area and reapplied whenever your skin feels dry.

    Sunscreen

    • Sunscreen is a MUST and should be used daily beginning the day of treatment and continued consistently.

    • Use sunscreen with Broadband UVA and UVB protection and an SPF of at least 30.

    • Ensure you reapply during sun exposure.

DO NOT expose your skin to direct sunlight for 14 days. The treated area is more prone to sunburn and pigmentation changes.

MOXI

Moxi is a gentle, non-ablative fractional laser designed for overall skin renewal. It works by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin to trigger collagen production and resurfacing from within, leaving skin smoother, firmer, and more radiant.

It’s a fantastic option for those looking for a preventative or corrective treatment with minimal downtime.

Ideal for Clients Who

  • Are looking to improve skin texture, tone, and pores

  • Want to treat early signs of aging or prevent future damage

  • Prefer a light-to-moderate laser treatment with fast recovery

  • Are new to laser resurfacing

Benefits of Broad Band Light

  • Refines texture and reduces pore size

  • Improves mild pigmentation and early fine lines

  • Enhances skin tone and radiance

  • Safe for all skin tones and types

  • Minimal downtime—just light flaking and redness

MOXI is ideal for maintaining healthy, youthful-looking skin and works beautifully as part of a long-term skincare plan.

MOXI Post-Care Instructions

These pre & post care instructions are intended to guide you through the treatment process and get you on your way to gorgeous!

What to Expect After Treatment

  • What to Expect
The treated area may feel extremely warm for 1–2 hours after the treatment. Warmth may continue for 12–24 hours post-treatment.

    What to Do
Cold compresses may provide comfort during this time. A mineral water spray might also help relieve heat and provide moisture to the skin.

  • What to Expect
Redness is normal and expected. It may increase in intensity over the first few days, with day 3 usually being the most intense. Redness can persist for up to 7 days, depending on the intensity of the treatment.

    What to Do
Use gentle cleansers, keep the skin moisturized, and avoid sun exposure to allow time for healing and to prevent additional stress on the skin.

  • What to Expect
MENDs may appear on the 2nd or 3rd day after treatment as tiny dark spots or a bronzed appearance on the treated skin. Your skin may feel very dry and like sandpaper before flaking and peeling off.

    What to Do
This is a normal part of the healing process. It indicates that treated tissue is being cleared away as new, fresh skin regenerates.

Keep your skin well moisturized and do not pick at your skin.

  • What to Expect
Swelling is common and expected immediately after treatment. It is typically most noticeable the morning after, especially under the eyes. Swelling may last 2–4 days.

    What to Do

    • Use a cold compress to relieve swelling.

    • To prevent additional swelling, you may sleep in an upright position for the first 2–3 nights post-treatment.

Recommendations

    • Begin cleansing the morning after treatment.

    • Wash 2x daily with lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser.

    • Use your hands with gentle patting motions only.

    • DO NOT scrub, rub, exfoliate, or use skin brushes (e.g., Clarisonic).

    • Apply generously with clean hands over the treated area.

    • Reapply whenever your skin feels dry.

    • DO NOT apply any other products that were not instructed by your doctor — e.g., essential oils, coconut oil, etc.

    • Begin using the day after treatment.

    • Apply daily and use consistently for up to 3 months post-treatment.

    • Use a physical sunscreen with SPF 30+ and Broadband UVA and UVB protection.

    • Reapply frequently during sun exposure.

    • For general discomfort, an over-the-counter oral pain reliever such as Extra Strength Tylenol may be recommended by your doctor.

    • If prescribed an antiviral, continue to take it as directed.

    • Avoid scratching or itching, as this can lead to scarring and pigmentation issues.

    • Itching can be relieved by oral Benadryl, though it may cause drowsiness.
